The Sacrament of Holy Orders is the ordination into priesthood, where individuals "serve in the name and in the person of Christ" (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1591). “It is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1536)
